The Nizhny Novgorod diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church plans to begin its own TV and radio broadcasting in 2006.
According to ‘Kremlin’ news agency, the work is underway. Radio ‘Obraz’ began FM transmission on January 16 two hours a day. The diocese is organizing TV studio of its own.
Press secretary of the Nizhny Novgorod diocese Rev. Igor Pchelintsev says that the city residents will soon have an opportunity to watch the twenty-four-hour Yekaterinburg Orthodox cable TV channel ‘Soyuz’.
