Session of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church chaired by His Holiness Patriarch Alexy

On 27 December 2005, a session of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church began under chairmanship of His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia in the Patriarch’s working residence in Chisty side street.

The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church opened the session and congratulated Metropolitan Vladimir of Kiev and All Ukraine with his 70th birthday, Metropolitan Vladimir of St.Petersburg and Ladoga with the 10th anniversary of his ministry as hierarch in St.Petersburg, and Metropolitan Juvenaly of Krutitsy and Kolomna with the 40th anniversary of his episcopal consecration.

After the welcoming address of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church the Holy Synod get down to work according to the planned agenda.
