A round-table conference on the limits of tolerance in political culture held in the Moscow State Institute for Foreign Relations

A round-table conference on ‘Limits to tolerance in the Political Culture in Europe Today: From the European Constitution to the November 2005 Street Disorders – Orthodox and Catholic Approaches’ took place on December 16, 2005, at the Moscow State Institute for Foreign Relations. It was attended by representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Roman Catholic Church, Russian and foreign scientists from Poland, Latvia and Belgium, journalists, students and the Institute’s post-graduate students. They discussed the approach to tolerance in the Orthodox and Catholic social teachings and relationships between modern secular ideology and traditional Christian values and ways of life. The Russian Orthodox Church was represented by Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin, DECR vice-chairman, and Rev. George Ryabykh, assistant to the DECR chairman.
