Church art to be exhibited in Russian Exhibition Center

The ‘Russian Wonder’ exhibition of fine, decorative and religious art is to open in Russian Exhibition Center on December 7, directorate of the ’Culture’ pavilion, which is to house the exposition, reported.

The exhibition is held annually since 1998 with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia. It will be opened till January 29, 2006.

Collections of Russian museums, artistic associations and private collectors will represent church art of the past and present. Among them are the ‘New Jerusalem’ historic museum from Moscow Region, the fine arts museum from Vladimir Region, the museum of Russian headscarves and shawls from Pavlovsky Posad, the ‘Russian Icon’ Moscow center of icons, the ‘House of Burganov’ Moscow state museum.
