The Word pilgrimage service of the Diocese of Archangelsk and Kholmogory works out new routes in Russian North. A new motor ship route was tested this summer.
St. Nicholas the Wonderworker is much venerated in Russia, especially in Russian North, where many churches are consecrated in his name. Unfortunately, many of them are destroyed.
The excursion begins near the old church of St. Nicholas in Archangelsk. Then the ship navigates along the branch of the Severnaya Dvina to the village of Konetsdvorie where a wooden church of St. Nicholas is located. All along the way guide tells pilgrims about the saint. The pilgrims visit the church in Konetsdvorie and have time for rest.
This route devoted to St. Nicholas is very popular with the residents and guests of Archangelsk.
