On 10 November 2005, His Holiness Patriarch Alexy received ambassador extra ordinary and plenipotentiary of the Republic of Germany in the Russian Federation in his residence in the Chisty Pereulok.
His Holiness congratulated the guest on his high and responsible appointment and expressed hope that the ministry of Walter Urgen Schmidt on the post of the German Ambassador in Russia would be successful and serve for the sake of our peoples and countries.
