Conference on inter-confessional and inter-religious dialogue held in Kazan

An inter-religious conference was held in the Krutushki sanatorium near Kazan on 10-16 October 2005. Orthodox, Catholic and Muslim believers participate in it.

The Kazan Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church was represented by Rev. Sergei Zavialov, inspector of the Kazan Theological Seminary and deacon Vladimir Salivanov, dean of the Seminary Church.

Archbishop Anastasy of Kazan and Tatarstan welcomed participants and guests of the Symposium in the Kazan Theological Seminary on October 13, 2005.

In his address, the Rector noted that the meeting contributed to strengthening the dialogue between the Orthodox Church and the Catholic Church. Bishop Clemens Pickel, Apostolic Administrator in Saratov, thanked Archbishop Anastasy for a hospitable reception and expressed hope for the development of inter-confessional dialogue.

The guests also visited the library and iconographic classes of the Theological School and talked to lecturers and students.
