Kharkov authorities transfer eight Orthodox churches to the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

Authorities of Kharkov transferred eight Orthodox churches to the canonical church communities on September 16, 2005.

According to the press-service of the Kharkov Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the churches where the divine services have been conducted earlier are given to the faithful. The officials conveyed to the faithful the documents confirming the ownership of communities for the church buildings.

Among the churches are: the Church of the Beheading of the Forerunner John, of St. Panteleimon, of Our Lady of Kazan, of Ss Peter and Paul, of the Three Holy Hierarchs and two Churches of St. Nicholas.

As press-service of the Kharkov Diocese reports, the documents on transferring the Cathedral of the Annunciation in Kharkov and the Church of Ss Constantine and Helena to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church are being prepared.
