Bishop George of Nizhni Novgorod and Arzamas meets with Papal Nuncio in Russia, Mgr. Antonio Mennini

Bishop George of Nizhni Novgorod and Arzamas met on August 14, 2005, with Mgr. Antonio Mennini, Archbishop of Ferento, Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See in the Russian Federation.

They discussed matters of mutual concern, among them the present state of the Roman Catholic parishes in Russia and cooperation between the Orthodox and the Catholics in the Russian Federation.

They were joined in their talk by Rev. Andrey Milkin, Nizhni Novgorod diocesan protocol chief, and Rev. Mario Beverati, rector of the Roman Catholic Parish of the Assumption in Nizhni Novgorod.

In conclusion of the meeting, Bishop George congratulated the Catholics in Nizhni Novgorod on their patronal feast, while Mgr. Antonio Mennini congratulated Bishop George on his birthday.
