The 2nd International Youth Festival ‘The Heaven of the Slavs’ Opens in Vitebsk

The 2^nd International Youth Festival ‘The Heaven of the Slavs’ opened in Vitebsk on 31 July 2005.

Several hundred persons are expected to take part in the festival. Its programme includes a competition concert of the Orthodox patriotic author’s songs and a sport programme ‘Earth-Air-Water’ with football, volleyball, and table tennis competitions. Those so wishing can take part in seminars, practical conferences and ’round tables’ on the theme of the unity of the Slavs and spiritual revival of the youth.

The discussion on the setting up of the Slavonic Youth Union is a major project planned for the festival.

The festival will last till August 3.
