The session of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for Construction of the Church of St. Catherine is held in Rome

The session of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for Construction of the Church of St. Catherine was held in Rome on 18 April 2005.

Before the session, Bishop Mark of Yegorievsk, DECR MP Deputy Chairman, conducted a prayer service for the beginning of all good deeds. The prayer service attended by the members of the Board, was held in the catacombs of St. Sebastian on the Via Appia.

The session was held at the Villa Abamelec, the residence of the Russian Ambassador in Italy. Among those present were A. Meshkov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Italian Republic, K. Goloschapov, executive director of the ‘Khram’ Orthodox Foundation, V. Zaitsev, President of the ‘Savas’ Industrial Group, P. Losev, the ‘Savas’ Vice-President, and Ms Ye. Ivanova.

The members of the Board of Trustees inspected the building site of the new church and noted the beginning of the full-scale work. At the session of the board, an address to potential benefactors was adopted and signed by Bishop Mark on behalf of the Board members.

A blessed diploma was given to Ambassador A. Meshkov in consideration of his assistance in construction of the church of St. Catherine.

Further plans of the Board’s work were discussed.
