Representatives of the Orthodox Churches Celebrate the Prayer Service on the Sunday of Orthodoxy in Zurich

On 20 March 2005, the first Sunday in Lent, representatives of all Orthodox Churches in Zurich gathered in the Church of the Resurrection of the Russian Orthodox Church to celebrate a Prayer service for the Triumph of Orthodoxy.

Recently, the tradition to celebrate the Triumph of Orthodoxy together has been interrupted for various reasons. The present service, taking part in which were clergymen of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, of the Russian, Serbian and Romanian Churches, commenced the revival of this tradition, which shows visible unity of the family of the Orthodox Churches.

The service for the Triumph of Orthodoxy was celebrated in the Church Slavonic, Greek, Serbian and Romanian languages. Next year the Triumph of Orthodoxy will be celebrated in the Greek church.
