The Man of the Year Prize winners announced

THE MAN OF THE YEAR PRIZE WINNERS ANNOUNCED

The 10th annual Man of the Year Prize of the Russian Biographical Institution has been awarded to His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The announcement was made at a solemn ceremony which took place on December 24, 2002, in Moscow.

Among the prize winners are also Metropolitan Kirill of Smolensk and Kaliningrad and Chief Rabbi of Russia Berl Lazar.

Prizes have also been given to Vladimir Ustinov, Chief Prosecutor of the Russian Federation, for struggle with terrorism, film director Alexey Balabanov for his film “War”, artist Nikas Safronov for support of Russia’s national interests through artistic means, surgeon Leo Bokeria, Doctor Lev Roshal, and three-time word champion in gymnastics Alina Kabayeva.
