Diocese of Tobolsk and Tyumen given eleven churches for free use

DIOCESE OF TOBOLSK AND TYUMEN GIVEN ELEVEN CHURCHES FOR FREE USE

The Tyumen Department for Property Relations is considering a request from the Tobolsk and Tyumen diocese to transfer 12 churches into its free use.

In accordance with the Russian Federation Government Decree on the Procedure for Transferring Religious Property in Federal Ownership to Religious Organizations, eleven church buildings have already being handed over to the diocese. Paper work for three more churches is under way.

In total, the federal property register in the Tyumen region lists 26 churches as historical and cultural monuments.
