His Holiness the Patriarch meets with the International Women’s Club members

HIS HOLINESS THE PATRIARCH MEETS WITH THE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S CLUB MEMBERS

Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia met with leaders and members of the International Women’s Club on May 18 at his residence in St. Daniel’s monastery. Among his guests were the former president of the club, Ms Nilima Lamba, wife of the Indian ambassador, the present president of the club, Ms. Maria de la Conception Romero Bautista, wife of the Philippinian ambassador, Ms Ecuadorian ambassador Jimena Martinez de Perez and several ambassadorial wives.

Welcoming his guests His Holiness said in particular, “I am delighted to meet the distinguished ladies who represent almost all the continents. Thank you for the charitable work you carry out in Russia”.

The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church and the club members exchanged information about the charitable work and discussed possibilities for cooperation.

His Holiness gave the women porcelain Easter eggs as tokens of their meeting.
