His Holiness the Patriarch and members of the Holy Synod meet the President of Russia

HIS HOLINESS THE PATRIARCH AND MEMBERS OF THE HOLY SYNOD MEET THE PRESIDENT OF RUSSIA

After the session of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church on December 28, Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia and members of the Holy Synod met with President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin.

They discussed questions involved in building the system of church-state relation at the present stage of life in Russia, participation of the Russian Orthodox Church in the education and formation of the younger generation of the country’s citizens, the international activity of Moscow Patriarchate, the situation of compatriots abroad, and the participation of the Church in the social life of the country. The hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church once again expressed patriotic support for the Russian state power and the desire to promote actively the revival of Russia.
