Metropolitan Kirill participates in the meeting with the Ambassadors of foreign countries accredited in Moscow

METROPOLITAN KIRILL PARTICIPATES IN THE MEETING WITH THE AMBASSADORS OF FOREIGN COUNTRIES ACCREDITED IN MOSCOW

On March 1, Metropolitan Kirill of Smolensk and Kaliningrad, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations, took part in the meeting with the ambassadors of foreign countries accredited in Moscow at the invitation of Bishop Niphon of Philipopolis, representative of the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East with the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, rector of the Antiochian metochy in Moscow.

In his speech Metropolitan Kirill touched upon the situation of the Russian Orthodox Church in Russian society and the response of the Church on the contemporary problems on the eve of presidential elections. After his speech Metropolitan Kirill answered the questions of those present at the meeting taking part in which also were the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Relations of the Russian Federation A.A.Avdeyev and Director of the Department of State Priotocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs M.Ye.Timoshkin.
