His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II sent a telegram to the Chief Rabbi of Russia on the crime committed in the synagogue

HIS HOLINESS PATRIARCH ALEXY II SENT A TELEGRAM TO THE CHIEF RABBI OF RUSSIA ON THE CRIME COMMITTED IN THE SYNAGOGUE

Today, July 14, His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia sent the following telegram:

“To A. S. Shayevich
Chief Rabbi of Russia

Dear Adolf Solomonovich,

I am shocked by the crime committed yesterday in the building of the Moscow Choral Synagogue. This is to testify that we strongly condemned it, just as any manifestations of violence, extremism and inter-ethnic enmity.
Please assure the victim of my sincere compassion and convey him my wishes of speedy recovery.
I wish peace and well-being to the members of your community.
