PATRIARCH OF ALEXANDRIA VISITING MOSCOW

His Beatitude Peter VII, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa is arriving in Moscow on April 22, at the head of a representative delegation of the Orthodox Church of Alexandria.

This is the first visit to the canonical territory of the Russian Orthodox Church to be made by the 49 year-old Primate of the Orthodox Church of Alexandria after his Patriarchal enthronement.

His Beatitude Patriarch Peter will be met at the airport by His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia and members of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Timed to the visit of the high guest is the opening of the Representation of the Patriarchate of Alexandria in Moscow at the church of All Saints-at-Kulishki near the Slavyansky Square.

On Sunday, April 25, the Feast of the Holy Myrrh-Bearing Women, the Primates of the Russian and Alexandrian Orthodox Churches will concelebrate the Divine Liturgy at the cathedral of the Dormition in the Moscow Kremlin.

During their stay the delegation will venerate Orthodox shrines in Moscow, St. Sergius’ monastery of the Trinity and St. Petersburg.
