Bishop Mark of Yegorievsk ordains as deacons two representatives of the North Korean Orthodox Committee

Bishop Mark of Yegorievsk, Vice-Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia, ordained Feodor (Kim Hwe Ir), a representative of the North Korean Orthodox Committee, as deacon on 21 May, the Commemoration Day of the Holy Apostle and Evangelist John at the church of the Holy Trinity in Khoroshevo.
After the Divine Liturgy Bishop Mark delivered a homily on the feast and addressed the newly-ordained deacon urging him to follow the example of St. John in preaching the Gospel – the Gospel of love to the people of Korea.
Bishop Mark, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia, also ordained Ioann (Ra Kwan Chkhor), a representative of the North Korean Orthodox Committee, as deacon on 22 May, the Day of the Translation the Relics of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, at the church of the Holy Trinity in Khoroshevo.
In his address to the newly-ordained deacon, Bishop Mark said that this was an event of historic character for the peoples of our countries and wished him God’s help in his diaconal ministry and zeal in the apostolic mission and in carrying the light of Orthodoxy to the people of Korea.
