Patriarch Alexy calls proselytism a serious problem in relations between Churches

‘Contacts with non-Orthodox Christians are an important part of the inter-Christian dialogue in Russia and other countries. It must be noted that our positions on morality, particularly on preserving traditional family values, are very close and we can form our common positions in opposition to anti-morality,’ said Patriarch Alexy of Moscow and All Russia at the Bishop’s Council in Moscow on 24 of July.

At the same time, the attempts of some Protestant organizations to continue their proselytical activity make the relations with them very difficult. ‘The situation is complicated by the fact that many Protestant missioners do it under the cover of charity and do not declare their confession,’ Patriarch Alexy said with regret.
