Moscow government sends Christmas gifts to the parishes in China

The Orthodox Fellowship of Ss Apostles Peter and Paul (Moscow Patriarchate) in Hong Kong asked the Department of International Relations of the Moscow government and the Yuri Dolgoruky Foundation in Support of Compatriots to help with the decoration of the newly opened home churches in Hong Kong and Shanjen. The initiative was blessed by His Eminence Metropolitan Kirill of Smolensk and Kaliningrad and supported by the Russian Embassy in the People’s Republic of China and the General Consulate of Russia in Hong Kong. The Foundation in Support of Compatriots presented the Fellowship of Ss Apostles Peter and Paul church utensils manufactured at the ‘Sofrino’ Arts Production enterprise of the Russian Orthodox Church. Church utensils and liturgical vestments will be used in the home churches of Ss Apostles Peter and Paul in Hong Kong and of St.Sergius of Radonezh in Shanjen.

His Grace Bishop Mark of Yegorievsk, deputy chairman of the Department for External Church Relations sent letters of gratitude to the leadership of the ‘Tasis’ enterprise, which arranged free shipment of church utensils to China of the eve of Christmas-tide in 2006.
