Metropolitan Sawa of Warsaw and All Poland to visit the Russian Orthodox Church

A delegation of the Polish Orthodox Church headed by Metropolitan Sawa of Warsaw and All Poland is to visit the Russian Orthodox Church on 3 – 8 October 2005.

Metropolitan Sawa arrives in Russia to participate in commemoration of St. Sergius of Radonezh in the Laura of the Holy Trinity and St. Sergius on October 8, 2005.

Metropolitan Sawa is to open the exhibition on ‘Orthodoxy in Poland: the present and the past’, speak at the conference on Polish Orthodoxy and visit the Omsk Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Patriarch Alexy and Metropolitan Sawa open the exhibition in the Obkhodnaya Gallery of the Transfiguration Church in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior on October 4, 2005.

It is organized by the Polish Foundation of Prince Konstantin of Ostrozhsk with the assistance of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate and will work till October 10, 2005.

Metropolitan Sawa will deliver a report at the conference on Orthodoxy in Poland, which is to be held in the conference hall of the Danilovskaya Hotel on October 4.

It is the second time that the Metropolitan visits the Russian Orthodox Church.

His first visit took place in September 1998 after he was elected Primate of the Polish Orthodox Church.
