OF THE CHRISTIAN INTERCONFESSIONAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The act of terrorism committed in Moscow with the loss of many lives has aroused our profound sorrow and anxiety. Unfortunately, it is by no means the first crime to be aimed at civilians.
On this sad day of mourning, we, heads and representatives of Christian Churches in Russia, call our faithful to pray for those who fell victim and for peace in our country. Whoever may commit an evil act must be brought to account. We resolutely condemn the acts of terrorism and call upon the authorities to investigate them as soon as possible and to stop the hand of murderers so that the peaceful life of our fellow-citizens could be protected.
We are at one in feeling sympathy for the families of those who fell victim to the tragedy and for the people who have lost their health and homes. May God wipe the tears of those who have suffered and may He send to our Fatherland and people a lasting peace which cannot be broken by any criminal design.
On behalf of the Christian Interconfessional Advisory Committee, Co-chairmen:
+ KIRILL Metropolitan of Smolensk and Kaliningrad Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations Moscow Patriarchate
